Well-Balanced Meals

We understand that well-balanced meals are important for everyone, student-athletes in particular, and DU Dining is committed to offering a variety of healthful options. Through collaboration with the DU Community, we are happy to offer pre-season meals as well as meals during holiday breaks. At all of these meals, lean proteins, whole grains, healthy fats, and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables will be offered to everyone. The greatest selection of offerings will always be available in the dining hall where community members with special dietary needs can be best accommodated.

Sustainability

Being environmentally responsible is a commitment we take seriously. Providing great tasting food is our passion, but it takes a lot of energy (not to mention water, gas, and waste). Dominican University Dining Service is committed to operating as sustainably as possible. That means local purchasing (items grown or raised within a 150-mile radius of River Forest, IL, recycling, purchasing sustainably fished seafood, using biodegradable and compostable disposables, taking water and energy saving measures throughout the foodservice operation, and composting (where possible).

Our Food Philosophy

Our Food Philosophy

We are passionate about food and we believe in wholesome, nutritious ingredients. That is why we are committed to using items healthier for both our bodies and the planet. By purchasing with the following standards in mind, and preparing items so that they are as fresh as possible when served, we support local agriculture, increase nutrition, and intensify flavor.
